Kingston man charged with setting fire to unoccupied residence

KINGSTON – A Kingston man was arrested by city police on Friday with burglary and arson in connection with a fire in an unoccupied residence at 164 O’Neil Street in the City of Kingston on April 29.
The fire was extinguished by Kingston firefighters, but not before creating substantial damage to the building. An investigation into the cause ruled out accidental and natural causes.
The police department’s Detective Division continued the investigation, which led to the arrest of Garett Shower, 26, of Foxhall Avenue in Kingston.  He was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
