KINGSTON – The sales of single-family houses rose in Ulster County during the month of March when compared to the same month last year, the Ulster County Board of Realtors reported.
March 2016 sales totaled 120, compared to 130 last month.
The median and average selling prices were lower this March while days on the market and available listings were also down.
The median price last month was $186,283, compared with $211,500 one year earlier. The average price in March was $232,128, compared with $241,572 one year earlier.
In March, homes were on the market for an average of 142 days. One year earlier, they were on the market for 157 days.
The available listed in March totaled 751, compared with 1,110 during the same month last year.
In the first quarter of the year, there were 343 single-family homes sold, compared to 322 during the same period in 2016. The average selling price this year was up, at $248,271, compared with $224,681 in the first three months of 2016. The median price so far this year was $195,700, compared with $188,500 one year earlier.
Days on the market were down from 151 in the first quarter of 2016 to 137 so far this year.
