Orange County Sheriff Special Ops Group to attend tactical training

GOSHEN – The Orange County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Group is one of eight tactical teams in the state to be selected to participate in the inaugural Tactical Week at the state Preparedness Training Center.
The state Division of Homeland Security and Preparedness is hosting the event with support from UAlbany’s National Center for Security and Preparedness.
Other teams to attend the two-day event in mid-May are Albany Police, Erie County Sheriff’s Office, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Metro SWAT Team – Utica Region, Nassau County Police, New Rochelle Police and White Plains Police.
“The use of tactical units has become a necessity in this day and age and my office will always promote further training and cooperative training initiatives with other agencies,” said Orange County Sheriff Carl DuBois.
