Freight train strikes truck at Rockland grade crossing

HAVERSTRAW – A CSX freight
train traveling south through Haverstraw struck a commercial truck carrying
cars at the New Main Street crossing.

There were no injuries to the crew of the train and no damage, leaks or
spills of freight, said CSX spokesman Rob Doolittle. The truck was unoccupied.

Haverstraw Town Police responded to the scene of the 4:20 p.m. incident
and CSX personnel were en route to assist in the investigation.
Doolittle said the train was traveling from Selkirk, NY to Newark, NJ.

The train has two locomotives and 124 freight cars. The freight included
paperboard, plastic and food products.
