Hempler: “… we are really excited …”

NEW WINDSOR – Two Blue Angels pilots flew into Stewart Airport
on Tuesday for a couple of days of meetings in preparation for the third
annual New York Air Show to be held on July 1 and 2. The Navy flying team
will be a highlight the air show.
Lt. Brandon Hempler stood next to his fighter jet on Tuesday and said the team is excited about coming to the Hudson Valley.
“The weather is going to be great,” Hempler said. “We know that up here in the north it’s going to be a little bit cooler in the summer. It will be a great time to have the air show, so we are really excited about it.”
Hempler was joined by Lt. Dave Steppe.
Stewart Manager Ed Harrison is thrilled to have the Blue Angels performing.
“We are honored to have the fine men and women associated with the United States Navy associated with the air show,” Harrison said.
Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus, a member of the Naval Reserves, was credited with helping to schedule the Blue Angels at Stewart.
“Other airports are envious of having the Blue Angels here and we are proud to see them here today,” Neuhaus said. “It’s just a little taste of what is coming here in July.”
Last year the Stewart air show featured the Air Force Thunderbirds.
