Boeing will service the Norwegian Air 737s in existing space at Stewart

NEW WINDSOR – When Norwegian Air begins European service from Stewart Airport near Newburgh in mid-June, it will have on-airport maintenance from Boeing, the manufacturer of the new 737-Max jets the airline will be using.
Stewart Manager Ed Harrison said Boeing will have high-value mechanics at the airport to service the aircrafts.
“This is the first time Boeing has entered into a service agreement with an airline where they provide staff on-site to provide all of the maintenance and mechanical requirements that these new aircraft will have,” he said. “We are delighted that that’s part of the whole package with Norwegian Airlines. Having a presence of a company like Boeing on the airport is extraordinary.”
Harrison said Boeing will move into office space and initially perform its maintenance functions in hangar space operated by one of the airport’s two fixed base operators—Atlantic Aviation or Signature Aviation.
