HIGHLAND – State Police have arrested a 19-year-old Hamlet of Wallkill
man on two assault charges and one count of criminal possession of a weapon,
all in connection with the stabbings of three men during an altercation
on the Oregon Trail in the Town of Shawangunk.
Police allege that on April 4, Eric Martine stabbed the three, seriously
wounding two of them. They were all treated at Orange Regional Medical
Center in the Town of Wallkill.
The case was initially investigated by Town of Wallkill Police, but turned
over to State Police when it was determined the assault occurred outside
their jurisdiction.
Martine was remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail.
