WHITE PLAINS – A New York City man faces 15 to 25 years to life
in state prison when sentenced in May in connection with an April 17,
2016 murder in Mount Vernon.

Bobby Jackson, 35, pled guilty last Friday to murder, criminal possession
of a weapon and reckless endangerment, all felonies, in the death of Charles
Smith.

At 5:23 p.m. on that date in April, Jackson spotted Smith riding his bicycle,
started jogging after him and fired several shots, one of which struck
him in the back.

At the time of the shooting, there were several pedestrians on the street,
including a woman pushing a baby stroller, who were in the line of fire.
