Weight of the snow blamed for this

RHINEBECK – A 125×30-foot section of the roof on the Williams Lumber building on Route 9 in Rhinebeck collapsed Wednesday under the weight of snow from Tuesday’s storm.
All employees and customers safely evacuated the building by the time Rhinebeck firefighters arrived on the scene. There had been a report that one person was pinned under the debris, but everyone got out.
Rhinebeck firefighter Bill Vickery was shopping at the time and assisted in the safe evacuation.
Central Hudson was notified to respond and shut off electric service.
The Rhinebeck building inspector was on the scene and closed the store
for an undetermined period. Assisting at the scene was the Dutchess County
Sheriff’s patrol.
