Schmidt
CORTLANDT – A Verplanck man is in the Westchester County Jail without bail following his arrest on felony burglary and criminal contempt charges.
State Police allege Michael Schmidt, 29, unlawfully entered the victim’s home, violating an order of protection. He reportedly choked the victim and fled when a Good Samaritan overheard the commotion and confronted him in the front yard. Police arrived and placed Schmidt in custody.
