The new hall will accommodate fast-growing science and engineering enrollment

NEW PALTZ – The new $48 million Science Hall was formally dedicated at SUNY New Paltz on Thursday.
The 77,000 square foot academic building provides facilities for a host of science and engineering courses, said Dean Daniel Freedman.
“It has come at a very opportune time for us because the number of students in science, engineering and mathematics areas have almost doubled in the last six or seven years so we really need the space and needed modern space to accommodate those growing programs,” Friedman said.
The new building provides space for AC2 (the student-supported programs in the sciences), and the departments of Computer Science, Geology, Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy, and Geography.
