Sheriff Carl DuBois, Chief Jeffry Holmes and DA David Hoovler discuss
the case

WALDEN – A boyfriend and girlfriend are in the Orange County Jail
without bail
after their arrest on Thursday for possessing four kilos of cocaine.

Walden Police Chief Jeffry Holmes said boyfriend and girlfriend, Coleen
Keller, 22, and Jared Fersko-Weiss, who lived together in Walden were
each charged with first-degree drug possession and conspiracy.

District Attorney David Hoovler said this is the largest drug seizure
in Walden history dating back to at last World War II.

“The value of the four kilograms of cocaine as it sits here now
would be between $120- and $150,000 and in a diluted or cut form, or turned
into crack cocaine, it could be as much as three times that,” he
said.
Chief Holmes said the origin of the drugs is under investigation and
he praised his officers for the one-month investigation.

The Walden department was assisted by the Orange County Sheriff’s
Office, DA’s Office and State Police.

If convicted on the drug charge, Hoovler said each suspect could receive
eight to 20 years in state prison. On the conspiracy charge, they could
each receive a sentence of 8 1/3 to 25 years in prison.
