FORT MONTGOMERY – Robin Poptanich of Middletown is set for the rest
of his life. He played the New York Lottery’s $10,000 a Week for
Life scratch-off game and won!
He was in Fort Montgomery on Thursday at the Fort Montgomery Food Mart
on Route 9W where he purchased the ticket. After required withholdings,
the 63-year-old will take home $344,136 per year, every year, for the
rest of his life.
Poptanich services medical equipment for a living an arrived early for
a service job on that day.
He stopped off at the store and bought two tickets, scratching them off
one at a time while back in his car.
“My initial plans are to take care of my family and buy a new house,”
he said. “I already made plans to retire. After that we’ll
travel and just enjoy life.”
