HAVERSTRAW – Rockland County Executive Edwin Day announced on Monday that he would seek a second term in November.
Day, a Republican, said his administration has begun turning the county
around on several fronts.
“The deficit has gone from $138 million to only $10 million in three years,” Day said. “We have budgeted nine percent than it has been. We are at the 2008 levels in budget and our organization is 22 percent smaller. We have made an impact on the environment. We have made impacts upon the housing crisis here in Rockland with slumlords.”
Day, who made his announcement at Haverstraw Bay County Park, told supporters he is committed to “continuing to make the tough decisions, challenge the status quo and fight every day to make lives better.”
