WHITE PLAINS – An Elmsford man was found guilty on Friday of murder and attempted murder after a jury trial in Westchester County Court before Judge Barbara Zambelli.
Dontae Degree, 30, was also convicted of assault and criminal possession of a weapon in the Yonkers shootings.
On August 25, 2015 at about 1:35 p.m., Degree crept up behind the car in which his two victims were seated and opened fire at both of them. Kenneth Hill, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, was killed. Roylin Fairclough was seriously injured but survived.
Yonkers police investigated and arrested Degree in October of that year.
He faces up to 25 years to life in state prison when sentenced in May.
