Body recovered by the Newburgh Fire Department

NEWBURGH – The body of a woman who jumped off the Newburgh-Beacon
Bridge Sunday evening was recovered an hour later near the Beacon side
of the Hudson River south of the bridge. The Newburgh City Fire
Department’s rescue boat was dispatched for assistance and transported
the body to the west shore of the river.
The State Police are investigating the incident.
Another person was also reported to have jumped off the Mid-Hudson Bridge at Poughkeepsie.
