GREENWICH, CT – Actress Mary Tyler Moore died Wednesday at age 80.
People may not know it, but she lived for a while years ago in Westchester and Dutchess counties. While in Dutchess, she lived in the Village of Millbrook.
County Executive Marcus Molinaro was saddened to learn of Moore’s passing.
“She was a true trailblazer in the entertainment industry yet familiar to us locally, leaving an indelible mark and impression on all who knew her and enjoyed watching her on the big and small screen,” Molinaro said. “She was a role model for women everywhere and a distinct presence in our community.”
Moore was perhaps best known for portraying a confident single professional
woman on the “Mary Tyler Moore Show”, in the 1970s.
