GOSHEN – Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler will expand his fight to curb prescription drug and opioid abuse. In addition to the continuing law enforcement efforts, he plans to place an emphasis on public awareness of the dangers of drug abuse.
“It is a massive crackdown effort on the upper echelon of the supply of narcotics in Orange County in the upcoming year, but in addition, embracing the education and prevention role with PSAs, direct mail as well as educating the public to the dangers of prescription pills and how close prescription pill abuse is to heroin addiction,” The DA said.
Hoovler expects to roll out his new program in the coming weeks.
