MONTGOMERY – State Police arrested a Cortlandt woman on charges
of criminal possession of a forged instrument and attempted grand larceny,
both as felonies.
Police were called to a local bank in Orange County on Wednesday where Alexandria Clarke, 18, was passing a fake check purported to be a payroll check from a Dutchess County hospital. Had she succeeded, police said she would have defrauded the bank out of more than $1,000.
Clarke was sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $7,500 in cash or $15,000 bond.
The investigation continues.
