Man arrested for possessing 500 pounds of copper cable wire

GREENBURGH – A Yonkers man was arrested on Saturday and charged with possessing over 500 pounds of copper cable wire in his vehicle. The wire belonged to Con Edison.
State Police from the Hawthorne barracks arrested Nicholas Mpounas, 67, and charged him with felony criminal possession of stolen property.  He was pulled over initially for a traffic violation on the Sprain Brook Parkway in the Town of Greenburgh.
Mpounas was released on an appearance ticket returnable to Greenburgh Town Court.
