DOVER PLAINS – A Dover woman was committed to the Dutchess County
Jail in lieu of bail after an investigation determined she stole thousands
of dollars from her mother’s bank account.

On January 16, State Police arrested Ann Harris, 31, of Dover on charges
of grand larceny, identity theft, forgery and unlawful possession of personal
identification information.

Police began their investigation in December after they received a report
of larceny and identity theft with thousands of dollars in charges and
cash withdrawals made from her mother’s account.

Troopers allege Harris had taken advantage of her mother’s illness
and incapacitation to seriously deplete most of the finances through the
fraudulent charges and cash withdrawals.

Harris was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash
bail or $40,000.
