SAUGERTIES – Four women were arrested by police following an investigation into prostitution in the Town of Saugerties.
Beginning on the evening of January 13, the URGENT Task Force conducted an undercover enforcement operation at a hotel in Saugerties, targeting the use of local online ads offering sexual acts. Undercover officers answered several ads and arranged for the person to come to the hotel. When each arrived, conversations took place detailing the sexual acts offered and the prices. Other police officers then took each person into custody.
Arrested were Susan Gadrick, 21, of Hudson Falls, Shukura Turner, 23, of Schenectady, Shenade Griffith, 25, of Schenectady and Christina Dayton, 35, of Marlboro. They were each charged with the misdemeanor of prostitution and Dayton was also charged with felony and misdemeanor drug possession after two “bundles” of heroin and some three-quarters of a gram of crack cocaine were found in her possession.
Aron Smith, 46, of Wallkill, an associate of Dayton, was also arrested and charged with felonies of drug possession and tampering with physical evidence after police found over an ounce of crack cocaine on him.
Gadrick, Turner and Griffith were released on appearance tickets. Dayton was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.  Smith is held without bail.
