POUGHKEEPSIE – Health Quest, the parent company to Vassar Brothers
Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, has appointed Robert Friedberg as its
CEO replacing Luke McGuinness, who retired at the end of 2016.

Friedberg has more than 30 years of healthcare management experience.
He joined Health Quest in January 2014, first as the president of Vassar
Brother and executive vice president of Health Quest and then president
of the health system.

Before coming to the Hudson Valley, he was executive vice president of
operations at Cadence Health in Winfield, Ill and president of Delnor
Hospital in Geneva, Ill.

During his tenure, Friedberg as been instrumental in the rapid growth
and expansion of the Health Quest system, including the planning of the
$510 million, 696,000-square-foot inpatient pavilion at Vassar Brothers.
As president and CEO, Friedberg oversees Health Quest’s network
of activities in the region.

In addition to Vassar Brothers, Health Quest also owns Northern Dutchess
Hospital in Rhinebeck and Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel. It also operates
several Health Quest Medical Practice primary care and specialty locations,
two urgent care locations and affiliates including the Thompson House,
a 100-bed skilled nursing facility on the Northern Dutchess Hospital campus,
Health Quest Home Care and The Heart Center.
Sharon Hospital in Sharon, Connecticut will be adding to its family this
year.
