CARMEL – Newly elected Assemblyman Kevin Byrne took the ceremonial oath of office in Carmel Friday night saying he is eager to get to work in Albany.

Family and friends packed the court room for the ceremony

Byrne’s 94th District includes portions of Putnam and Westchester counties.
He is ready to roll up his shirt sleeves and get to work addressing what he sees as key issues.
“We have to get back to restoring public trust, to fighting for reforms that will make New York State more affordable to the folks who live here to stay here, for future generations to stay here, standing by our men and women in uniform, our military veterans, our first responders, our law enforcement, our firefighters, our EMS personnel,” he said.
Byrne will a member of the Republican minority in a house ruled by a New York City-dominated Democratic majority.
