Windfall Farms

HAMPTONBURGH – The 142-acre Windfall Farms will be preserved for agricultural use in perpetuity as a conservation easement has been finalized.
The Orange County Land Trust will hold the easement on the farm owned
by Morse Pitts, said Land Trust Director of Conservation and Stewardship
Matt Decker.
“He has a farm mentorship program on the property where he teaches
young and beginning farmers his trade,” Decker said. “This
conservation project is in partnership with Scenic Hudson and the state
Department of Agriculture and Markets, which are providing the funding.”

The state put up $931,800 and Scenic Hudson Land Trust contributed $303,750
toward the project.
Windfall Farms specializes in growing fruits and vegetables and is located on Neelytown Road in Hamptonburgh.
