Philipstown man faces burglary, larceny charges

CARMEL – A Philipstown man was arrested and charged with breaking into the same Nelsonville home twice and stealing property.
The homeowners reported a break-in on December 9 and an attempted break-in on the December 15.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office investigated and arrested James Pidala, 24, of Philipstown on December 16.  He was charged with burglary, grand larceny, and attempted burglary, all as felonies, and is in the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
If found guilty of the charges, Pidala could face up to 15 years in state prison.
