Ground broken for new Sullivan County Jail

TOWN OF THOMPSON – Site clearing has begun on the new Sullivan County Jail and sheriff’s administrative offices. The project is located off Old Route 17 in the Town of Thompson and will replace the current more than century-old jail about a half-mile away in Monticello.
The new complex is expected to begin operations in 2019.
The design of the building will allow for future expansion and will also provide for more efficient and cost effective operations.
