CORNWALL – A CSX freight train traveling from South Kearney, New
Jersey to Chicago struck an unoccupied vehicle on the tracks at the Shore
Road crossing in Cornwall early Saturday.
Orange County Emergency Services was notified and responded to the scene
of the 2:30 a.m. incident as did the Cornwall-on-Hudson Fire Department.
There were no injuries to the crew on the train, said CSX spokesman Rob
Doolittle.
The train had three locomotives and 16 freight cars carrying containerized
freight.
