TOWN OF CRAWFORD – A Spring Valley man has been charged with the fatal stabbing of Justin Speights at a New Year’s party on January 1.
Jauntae Brown, 20, was charged in Crawford Town Court Thursday night with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
Speights was stabbed to death on New Year’s morning outside a residence in the Town of Crawford where a New Year’s Eve party had been going on. He was said to have been trying to break up a fight at the time.
Two other men have been arrested and charged with destroying evidence for allegedly deleting cell phone video recorded at the time.
Speights, 20, was a resident of the Town of Wallkill and a member of the Silver Lake Fire Department.
