DOVER PLAINS – State Police at the Dover Plains barracks have arrested two people in connection with a burglary in progress.
When troopers arrived at a call concerning a burglary in progress on December 3 at a property on Undermountain Road in the Town of Amenia, the owner said he had seen two people inside a building, while hearing loud banging noises coming from inside.
Troopers observed two suspects, Paul Reed, and Stephanie Baker-Papierowicz, walking out of the building.
A check of the interior found a side entrance window had been broken to gain entry and the interior had suffered intentional water damage from clogged drains and running water. Hardwood floors had been damaged and letters were carved in walls on the first level.
Both suspects were sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond each.
