Monticello woman charged with burglarizing residence, stealing gun

MONTICELLO – A 21-year-old Monticello woman was committed to the
Sullivan County Jail on bail following her arrest on December 1 in connection
with a residential burglary in the village on the evening of Tuesday,
November 29.

Monticello Village Police charged Briana Call with the felonies of burglary,
criminal possession of a weapon, grand larceny and criminal possession
of stolen property.

She was arrested following an investigation by Monticello detectives.
It is alleged that Call broke into the residence and stole a .38 caliber
handgun and ammunition.

She then hid the firearm in a wooded area, police said, but they were
able to recover the gun and ammunition.

Village Justice Josephine Finn remanded Call to the Sullivan County Jail
in lieu of $40,000 bail pending future court action.

Local police were assisted by the Sullivan County District Attorney’s
Office.
