GOSHEN – Authorities have charged a 28-year-old Goshen woman with
animal cruelty after they responded to a complaint and found her emaciated
female pit bull at her Excelsior Avenue home in the Town of Wallkill.

Alicia Santos was charged with the misdemeanor when the Orange County
Sheriff’s Office and the Town of Goshen Humane Society executed
a search warrant on December 1.

Santos also had an active bench warrant from Middletown City Court on
unrelated charges.

She was arraigned in Middletown Court and remanded by Judge Steven Brockett
on $1,500 cash bail or bond.

The dog is now being cared for at the Goshen Humane Society where it will
receive medical attention and be treated for its current emaciated condition.
