POUGHKEEPSIE – The two Dutchess County Elections Commissioners, Republican Erik Haight and Democrat Marco Caviglia, each earns about $85,000 a year.
The commissioners requested salaries of $114,500 in 2017 and County Executive
Marcus Molinaro included proposed salaries of $90,000 each.
Republican County Legislator John Forman finds fault with both proposed salary figures.
“They are not a department head, number one; and number two, I looked at Orange County, which is a very good comparable for us to take a look at,” he said. “Their 2017 salary budget is for $83,000.”
Forman said just a couple of years ago the two commissioners received $10,000 salary increases.
