TOWN OF NEWBURGH – The Brooklyn Brewery Corporation is going to construct a 250,000-squae foot brewery on a parcel at the Stewart Airport Industrial Park off Route 17K in the Town of Newburgh.  The brewery could be expanded to 350,000-square feet.
Under provisions of the 60-year lease, which must be approved by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Board, the company would assume control of over 823,000-square feet of property.
The company would pay approximately $30.1 million in ground rental for the site.
Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus said this will provide a major shot in the arm for the regional economy.
“This would be manufacturing. It would have tourism. It would have a restaurant component to it. Everybody is excited to work with them – the Town of Newburgh, our economic development partners in the state,” he said.
This would be the first significant lease of property at the airport industrial park since the Port Authority took over the airport in November 2007.
