Fire damages Middletown home

MIDDLETOWN – Fire early Monday morning caused significant fire and water damage to a home at 89 Wisner Avenue in Middletown. The second floor of the two-story wood frame building sustained heavy fire damage.

No one was home at the time of the two-alarm blaze. One firefighter sustained a minor burn; no other injuries were reported. A total of 45 firefighters battled the blaze with the bulk of the flames brought under control in about 30 minutes.
Middletown firefighters, under the command of Chief Sam Barone, were assisted at the scene by Circleville. Howells, Pocatello and Mount Hope fire departments were on standby at the central firehouse.
The fire is under investigation by the Orange County Fire Investigation Unit.
