NEWBURGH — A man was shot in the back late Wednesday night in Newburgh. City Police said the victim, whose name they did not release, was brought to St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital by a friend just before 11 p.m. That was shortly after police received a call of shots fired in the area of 190 North Miller Street.
The victim sustained a single gunshot wound and was admitted for treatment.
Officers investigated and found a loaded handgun at the curb on North Miller, but are not sure if that was the gun used in the incident.
Anyone with information is urged to call Newburgh City Police at 845-561-3131.
