WHITE PLAINS – The owner of A Plus Transportation, which provided
bus transportation for the City of Yonkers, plead guilty in Westchester
County Court on Thursday to submitted invoices for services never rendered.

William Ahern, 60, of Armonk, pled to grand larceny and rewarding official
misconduct, both as felonies.

When sentenced next February, he faces up to 15 years in state prison.

Ahern was alleged to have stolen approximately $313,825 from the city
for bus services that were never provided to the Nepperhan Community Center,
but for which he submitted invoices.

The investigation covered the period of September 2012 to April 2014,
a time in which Ahern’s company had contracts with Yonkers totaling
$2.8 million.

Ahern schemed together with co-defendant Anna Sollozzo, transportation
supervisor for the city school district. Over a two-year period, Ahern
was secretly depositing money into Sollozzo’s personal bank account
totaling $107,250.

Sollozzo, 54, of Yonkers previously pled guilty to grand larceny and criminal
tax fraud and was sentenced in June to two to six years in state prison,
a term she is currently serving.
