POUGHKEEPSIE – Bridges on Degarmo Road (CR 43) over the Wappinger Creek in the towns of LaGrange and Poughkeepsie have been completed and the road is now reopened to traffic and the Dutchess County Public Works Department, that built the new structures, said they were completed on schedule and under budget.
Degarmo Road averages 10,000 cars per day.
“Our DPW Engineering Division team continues to work industriously to ensure our road projects are completed on schedule and within or under budget,” said County Executive Marcus Molinaro.
Bridge rehabilitation work began in April and involved the replacement of existing bridge beams and decks, modification of abutments, installation of scour protection, and the addition of new bridge rail.
The total cost of the two-bridge project was approximately $2.6 million.
