POUGHKEEPSIE – State Police officials have released the name of
the trooper who was involved in a car crash with a motorcyclist that resulted
in the motorcyclist’s death.
Trooper Cody Vetter was driving eastbound on Route 44 with emergency lights
and siren on when he was involved the crash that claimed the life of Warren
Corbitt, 45, of Brooklyn.
The collision took place at the intersection of Route 44 and Sharon Turnpike
in the Town of Washington on Friday evening around 7:45.
The officer was responding to Millbrook High School for a report of a
person with a knife during a football game.
The investigation into the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
