KINGSTON – The number of single-family homes sold in Ulster County in the first nine months of the year rose significantly over the same period last year.
The Ulster County Board of Realtors/Hudson Valley Catskill Region MLS reported 1,154 homes since from January to September compared with 1,012 during the first nine months of 2015.
The average selling price dipped from $236,642 in the first three quarters of last year; this year they averaged $235,217.
Homes remained on the market for an average of 137 days this year compared to last year’s average of 151, indicating an improvement in the economy.
September home sales dipped slightly this year with 139 homes sold compared to 142 last year. The average selling price rose to $259,253 from $234,069 in the same month in 2015.
