Yonkers man indicted in Doyle Park murder

WHITE PLAINS – A Yonkers man was arraigned in Westchester County Court on Thursday in the shooting death of another man in Doyle Park in May.
Robert Daniels, 27, is charged with two counts of murder, two counts of attempted robbery, one count of criminal possession of a weapon, all as felonies, and a violence of unlawful possession of marijuana in the shooting death of Joseph Huguet.
On the evening of May 31, the victim was in the park when Daniels attempted to rob him at gunpoint. Huguet refused to turn over his personal property and that is when Daniels shot him several times with a .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol. Huguet died after being rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Yonkers Police investigated and arrested Daniels on June 2 at which time they found him in possession of marijuana.  If convicted, he faces up to 25 years to life in prison.
