MONTICELLO – Sullivan lawmakers could possibly award contracts for jail construction next week, if a lot of things fall into place.
County Manager Joshua Potosek said on Thursday the second round of bids opened last week are being reviewed.
“There are due diligence on both sides,” he said.  “We’re following up on an exchange of some documents to make sure we’re comfortable with Pike and their insurance coverages.”
Rochester-based Pike Company was the lowest of the three bidders, at about $72 million, for the jail and a preferred option for the sheriff and road patrol annex.
Potosek said there will be several resolutions related to the jail for next Thursday’s Executive Committee and monthly legislative sessions.
