WOODSTOCK – The “fiercely independent” 17th Annual
Woodstock Film Festival opens today and runs through Sunday.

The Film Fest which showcases Indie Films in venues throughout Woodstock
along with Kingston, Rhinebeck, Rosendale and Saugerties has been named
one of “The 50 Best Small Film Festivals in The World.”

The four day event features not only more than 130 films, but panel discussions,
parties and lots of special opportunities to meet the film makers, actors
and others involved in the process.

The awards ceremony at the 2015 Woodstock Film Festival was attended
by actresses Jennifer Connolly and
Natlie Portman, center in the front row

The opening night film is the world premiere of “Blind” directed
by Michael Mailer and starring Alec Baldwin and Demi Moore. Both Baldwin
and Mailer will be in attendance for a Q & A after the film.

This year’s Woodstock Film Festival will have five World Premieres,
six North American Premieres, three U.S. Premieres, 11 East Coast Premieres
and 14 New York Premieres. The films consist of narratives, foreign, documentaries
and several categories of shorts.

The Woodstock Film Festival is a wonderful opportunity to see very unusual
films that often don’t get wide release, in addition to the educational
panels with superstars in the acting, music, directing and producing world
and a town full of celebrities.
