ALBANY – Two Mid-Hudson volunteer firefighters, who died in the line of duty last year, are among eight whose names have been added to the New York State Fallen Firefighters Memorial at the Empire State Plaza in Albany.

The firefighters’ memorial, dedicated in 1998, now honors 2,406 individuals who lost their lives in the line of duty.
On Tuesday, Firefighters Appreciate Day, the names of the latest firefighters to lose their lives were announced at the Albany ceremony.
