Bringing business to the shoppers

TOWN OF WALLKILL – The Orange County Chamber of Commerce has held its annual business expo at Anthony’s Pier Nine catering hall in New Windsor for years, but on Wednesday, it was at a new venue, the Galleria at Crystal Run in the Town of Wallkill.
Chamber President Lynn Cione noted the former venue is on the eastern side of the county; the mall brought the event to the center of the county, and it brought the exhibitors right to their potential customers, the shoppers.
“We are not asking the consumers to come to us; we are coming to where the consumers are,” Cione said.  “At the chamber, our businesses are business to business, but we also have business to consumer, and we have to balance that and this is a good balance for that.”
Over 200 businesses participated Wednesday with shoppers taking advantage of the opportunity to meet many of them.
