KIRYAS JOEL – State, Woodbury and Blooming Grove Police were involved in a search that began Monday afternoon and continued until early Tuesday morning when a 35-year-old man who took a walk in the woods near his Kiryas Joel home, did not return home.
Local police agencies assisted KJ village public safety personnel and the man, who authorities did not identify, was found safe and sound off Evans Road in the Town of Woodbury.
The conductor of a passing train spotting him walking near the tracks and notified police. He was located, checked for any injuries, and brought home.
“It was a case of the man getting lost in the woods when he went for a walk,” said Kiryas Joel Public Safety Director Moses Witriol.
