FISHKILL – The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and
Explosives has concluded that the fire that destroyed a large section
of the Gap clothing distribution center in Fishkill last month was intentionally
set.

State Police announced the finding for the ATF National Response Team
on Tuesday, saying the fire was incendiary in nature.

Both the State Police ant ATF are continuing their investigation and are
encouraging anyone with information relevant to the case to call the State
Police at Poughkeepsie at 845-677-7300.
The fire broke out on August 29 and burned for a good portion of the
day drawing a firefighting response for three counties. All employees
who were working at the time were evacuated without injuries. One firefighter
sustained a minor injury.
