State police are assisting in the investigation
TOWN OF SOUTHEAST – A fire that engulfed a house at 2 Maple Lane in the Town of Southeast early Wednesday morning claimed one life Eugene Cosson, 50, was located dead inside the residence.
When firefighters and police arrived on the scene at around 3:45 a.m., they found the building engulfed in flames. Firefighters from Brewster, Croton Falls, Danbury, Carmel, Lake Carmel and Putnam Lake departments extinguished the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Police and Putnam county Fire Investigation team.
