FISHKILL – Flames lit the nighttime skies over Fishkill as fire
raged at the Gap distribution center off Route 9 and Interstate 84.

All employees were able to get out of the massive 2.5 million square foot clothing distribution building. One report said over 100 workers may have been in the building when the fire was reported about 2:30 a.m.
Over one million gallons of water were poured on the five-alarm blaze that brought out firefighters from Dutchess, Putnam and Orange counties.
One firefighter was reported injured and taken to an area hospital.
Fire investigators are on the scene in an effort to determine the cause of the fire, which was substantially knocked down by 4:30 a.m.
