MID-HUDSON – The excessive heat warning is in effect until 10 p.m. on Sunday, the National Weather Service said.
Oppressive heat and humidity will continue through the weekend with the excessive heat warning in effect until 10 p.m. Sunday.
Heat index values today (Saturday) are expected at 105 to 110 degrees and for Sunday at around 105 degrees.  The highest heat indices occur usually in the mid to late afternoon.
The combination of the heat and humidity will increase the risk for heat related health issues, especially for the elderly, those with chronic health problems such as lung and heart disease, those working outside, and other heat sensitive groups of people.
